Soap Star Arrested for DUI

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

According to TMZ soap opera star Kirsten Storms was arrested for driving under the influence over the weekend. Storms is known for her role as Belle Black on Days of Our Lives and Maxie Jones on General Hospital. She also provides her voice for a role on Disney’s Kim Possible. I am sure Disney is not too happy with her right now.

Storms, 23, was pulled over in Los Angeles after a lit cigarette was thrown out of her car. The police then administered field sobriety tests after smelling alcohol. She failed and was arrested for DUI.

Kid Rock cited for battery after fight with Tommy Lee at VMAs

Monday, September 10th, 2007

It sounds like what happened back stage at the MTV Video Music Awards may have been more interesting than what happened on stage (unless you call Britney Spears’ comeback disaster “interesting.”) If you watched the VMAs, which aired live, you may have been wondering what P. Diddy meant when he said that Kid Rock was supposed to be presenting with him and then made some comment about rock stars fighting.

According to TMZ, Kid Rock got into a fight with Tommy Lee backstage at the Palms Casino and Hotel. Kid Rock “slapped up” Tommy Lee and police were called. Kid Rock was cited for misdemeanor battery, but allowed to stay at the show.

Both Kid Rock and Tommy Lee were formerly married to Pamela Anderson.

Jude Law Denies Photographer’s Allegations

Friday, September 7th, 2007

Graham Shear, the lawyer for actor Jude Law issued a statement which confirmed that Jude met with police regarding an incident with the paparazzi outside of his home.

I can confirm that Jude Law voluntarily attended Marylebone Police Station yesterday following an alleged incident outside his house earlier in the day. Mr. Law provided the police with a statement regarding his denials of allegations by a ‘paparazzi’ photographer against him and made his own allegations concerning the photographer. Jude has the utmost respect for the police and whilst this is an ongoing matter no further comment will be made.

According to previous reports, Jude had “attacked” a photographer who said that Jude “went nuts,” even though the photographer was not taking photos. Jude reportedly also accused the photographer of “being a pedophile that only wanted to shoot Jude’s children.”

Chicago Bears Lance Briggs Leaves Scene after Crashing Lamborghini

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

lamborghini-lance-briggs-crash.jpg

Lucky to escape unhurt, Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs crashed his brand-new Lamborghini Murcielago, valued at over $300,000, early Monday morning. Briggs was reportedly traveling home to suburban Northbrook after visiting at least two nightclubs in Chicago, when he crashed at approximately 3:00 a.m. He then left his heavily damaged car on the side of the road, where it was found abandoned by the police.

Briggs, who admitted that he was driving the vehicle, is facing a misdemeanor charge for leaving the scene of an accident. He was also given tickets for failing to notify police of the crash and improper lane usage. He will have to head to court on October 4th.

There has been rampant speculation that alcohol may have played a role in the crash, which would explain why Briggs would not have called the police, or at the very least a tow-truck, after the accident. Because he did not speak with police until late Monday afternoon, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to prove a driving under the influence charge. It is also possible that Briggs was simply speeding, especially considering the fact that the Lamborghini can reach speeds of over 200 miles per hour.

Bill Murrary arrested for DUI on a golf cart

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

bill-murray-golf.jpg

Bill Murray was pulled over by Swedish police on Monday as he drove a golf cart through downtown Stockholm. According to reports, after police smelled alcohol, they wanted to administer a Breathalyzer test. Murray refused the Breathalyzer, so the police drew blood. The results of the blood test will take a couple of weeks.

Murray does not seem too concerned about the arrest, as he reportedly signed a document admitting to driving the golf cart under the influence of alcohol and gave permission to the police to plead guilty on his behalf.

According to DUI.com, a blood alcohol level of only .02 while driving constitutes driving under the influence in Sweden. In contrast, in Illinois, a state Murray frequents, the illegal blood alcohol level is .08.
