Lindsay Lohan Will Serve Only One Day In Jail

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Lindsay Lohan entered into a plea agreement with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, pleading no contest to two misdemeanor counts of DUI and one count of reckless driving in exchange a sentence of four days in jail.

The judge then credited her one day time served from her second arrest and took away two of the days in jail in exchange for 10 hours of community service. That leaves Lohan with one day to spend in jail. She will also have to serve three years of probation. Any miscues while on probation will likely result in jail time.

Lohan also must refrain from using controlled substances and not “associate with people with controlled substances.” In order to comply with that requirement of probation, I think that Lindsay better find some new friends.

Lindsay Lohan Will Not Face Felony Charges

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Despite previous reports that Lindsay Lohan was in possession of cocaine during both of her incidents of driving under the influence of alcohol, the District Attorney in Los Angeles declined to charge her with any felony charges.

According to TMZ, the amount of cocaine found in Lohan’s possession was less than the amount required for felony filing in California, which is apparently .05 grams. There was also an issue proving possession of the cocaine during her first arrest, where the cocaine was found in her car. After she allegedly abandoned after crashing it, someone else reportedly moved her car. I am sure the District Attorney realized that it would be difficult to prove that it was her cocaine since she was not in sole possession and control of the vehicle prior to its being searched.

Bill Murrary arrested for DUI on a golf cart

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

Bill Murray was pulled over by Swedish police on Monday as he drove a golf cart through downtown Stockholm. According to reports, after police smelled alcohol, they wanted to administer a Breathalyzer test. Murray refused the Breathalyzer, so the police drew blood. The results of the blood test will take a couple of weeks.

Murray does not seem too concerned about the arrest, as he reportedly signed a document admitting to driving the golf cart under the influence of alcohol and gave permission to the police to plead guilty on his behalf.

According to DUI.com, a blood alcohol level of only .02 while driving constitutes driving under the influence in Sweden. In contrast, in Illinois, a state Murray frequents, the illegal blood alcohol level is .08.
