Shia LaBeouf Arrested At Chicago Walgreens
Rising star Shia LeBeouf was arrested yesterday for criminal trespass at a Chicago Walgreens, according to Bill Zwecker of the Chicago Sun-Times. Not exactly the way to go if you are trying to toughen up your image. I would suggest a bar brawl.
Shia is in town to work on the film Eagle Eye, although he is best known for his role in Transformers and his upcoming role in the new Indiana Jones movie.
I am quite familiar with the Walgreens in question. It is open 24 hours, is located on the “Magnificent Mile,” and is one of the older Walgreens in the downtown area.
No information on why Shia was in the Walgreens at approximately 2:00 a.m., but he was reportedly drunk and refused to leave, which resulted in his arrest. Maybe they had run out of whatever post-drinking snack he enjoys?
He was reportedly told by a security guard that he had to leave because he was intoxicated. After police arrived he was taken to the jail, where he was ‘”very courteous and polite” before posting bond several hours later.
He is next scheduled to appear in court at Branch 29 on November 28th. The charge he is facing is only a misdemeanor and I doubt, even if he is convicted, that he will receive any jail time. My guess is that the charges will probably be dropped when the case gets to court later this week. It really is not a big deal, he did not harm anyone, and really, what Chicago resident hasn’t been drunk in a Walgreens? He just needs to learn his inside voice.
